Nigerian Police Recruits 30,000 Applicants. 2019 Recruitment Update

The Nigerian police recruited 6,000 constables in the 2017/2018 recruitment exercise into the force. And they promised an increment of 4,000 in the 2018/2019, which makes the year intakes to be 10,000. This was detailed in my post, “Nigerian Police Recruitment: 4 Reasons Why You Must Apply Before the Closing Date

Meanwhile the commission has decided to bring in 30,000 applicants every year until a target is met. Hence, it’s more likely the commission starts the new number in the ongoing recruitment.

Now that the 2018 recruitment has ended and the commission released the number of applicants that applied from each state, we can have the hope that 30,000 out of the 315,032 will be taken in this year.

This number to be offered jobs was disclosed by The Commissioner Representing Human Rights, North Central, in the Commission, Mr. Rommy Mom.
The Police Service Commission, PSC, would annually recruit 30,000 personnel into the Nigerian Police Force to address the noticeable shortfall of needed personnel in the force.

According to Rommy, “with this figure we have a ratio of 32 Police officers to almost 800 Nigerians which is grossly in adequate. That is far below the international standards which should be 132 to 100,000 persons. So we will annually recruit 30,000 personnel until we address the shortfall.”

Meanwhile, all the 2018/2019 applicants for the police jobs should be on the lookout for their invitations to the second stage of the recruitment exercise.

You may find this post resourceful, to know what next after your application.
